Meet Our Instructors
A year-round resident of Nantucket, Courtney has been in the fitness industry for ten years. Courtney is a fully certified power pilates instructor allowing her to train clients of all levels from beginner to advanced. She has combined her interests in fitness and fashion to create CORE.
Melanie was trained at Boston Body in Belmont, MA which is a Balanced Body Pilates Method. She is also certified in the Barre Method. She lives in Wellesley, MA and has worked at Boston Body for several years. She also trains clients in their home. She has been teaching at CORE on Nantucket for the past four years.
Originally from upstate New York, but with a gypsy heart, Alena has been coming to Nantucket and teaching at CORE for the past 10 summers. She uses NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT) and Active Release Techniques (ART), and (of course Pilates as a corrective), to help resolve and reset dysfunctional movement patterns that can decrease performance or cause chronic pain.
Ali is from Westlake Village, CA and is excited for her first summer teaching on Nantucket. She studied dance and communications at Loyola Marymount University, while receiving her Pilates certification through Stott Pilates. She then went on to dance with several professional ballet companies and continues to teach Ballet and Barre. She loves being able to help change and heal bodies of all ages and abilities through movement.
A California-native, Melinda began teaching Pilates over 11 years ago in San Francisco. Since then she has taught in various locales, most recently in the Turks and Caicos Islands, as the Resident Pilates Teacher at COMO Parrot Cay. She is certified through the Pilates Method Alliance® and Pilates Academy International® and holds an MA in Motor Learning and Motor Control from Columbia University. Beyond Pilates, she is also a NASM® certified personal trainer and a NeuroKinetic Therapy® practitioner, allowing her to tailor each session to her students’ goals - whether they are rediscovering healthy movement patterns or breaking through fitness plateaus.
